John, or anyone at Raceway, I've got a question about the XL50

What do you know about registering this quad in California? Will it be green sticker or red sticker? And what exactly does red sticker mean? I've previously only owned Honda ATVs which all had green stickers. In my research on the bargain stuff I keep hearing about red stickers as well, which I've never heard of before??

Go to the Cal State Parks web site or even Cal DMV maybe, explains red stickers. Basically, there are various riding areas in California that prohibit a red sticker bike from operating there during certain time of year (around summer time). pismo is one of them. believe it or not, its a smog thing, and some brain surgeons decided 2 stroke atvs, and some 4 strokes that dont have CARB approval, contribute significantly to the smog problem during summer months. Any atv made before 2001 is grandfathered in and gets a green, any quad after 2001 with a C or a 3 in 8th digit of VIN gets a red sticker. John should be able to tell if yours is a red sticker.

Our XL 50 and Mini 90 cannot be registered in C.A at this time. (We are not selling them to that state) The manufacturer did not get any approvals yet and we have no word on if or when!
