just ordered a je 10:5.1 pistion, a wb all around cam, new valve springs, and a curtis sparks exhaust. can anyone with the similar setup, care to chime in with some before/after comments.

also just to verify, is the wb rev box the same as the honda xr250 model? need to double check this. I rather only pay about $45 instead of $120.

has anyone run into problems installing a sticker kit on a quad with "some" scratches? does it stay on? bubble? or just not worth putting on?
thanks in advance

I had the sparks x-4 on my bike for over a year with Uni filter, CT icm and jet kit. It was a definite improvement. We just put all of this on my brothers '01 400EX and it really made a difference. We literally went right from riding it to changing all the parts out. We wanted the impression of the stock bike fresh in our minds when we got the mods on. It really helped the snap of the bike and gives it more pull throughout.

With your additional mods of pistion and cam you should be running pretty strong. Are you going with a 416 or staying stock. Personally, you might as well go 416. Since you are already going to have the cylinder off you might as well get it bored. From what I understand 416 doesnt really compromise the stock sleeve enough to cause any reliability issues.

I hope you get your Sparks exhaust quicker than I did it took over 2 months. I have my motor at his shop right now, and they have told me I will have it back by Nov 11. I really hope so since I am going stir crazy watching my brother ride around on his 400EX.

Two things about setup if you are planning on running your bike leaving the airbox stock try a 150 main and a 42 slow as long as you live around 1000' or so. Also you need to reroute your clutch cable around your exhaust I used zip ties and pulled it down toward the bottom frame rails. If you dont do this you will burn your cable sleeve.

it took 3 weeks for me to get the x-6 exhaust(got it on friday) I am not going to bore it out unless I need to. and I will be running with the airbox on. I ride mainly trails/xc stuff so I want the added protection with the lid on.
