Default Feeler Guage?

I just bought one to adjust my valves but the increments on the tabs say .010,.015 etc, as opposed to 0.10mm and 0.15mm the service manual calls for? Are the meaasurments for Atv valve clearences that much smaller than that of an automobile?

I adjust mine at .007" exhaust and .005" on the intake. That's in inches. Does your gauge read in inches also?

No, I think I just got the wrong tool. It measures in mm starting at 0.203 and measures in Thousands(miles)? starting at 0.008

Is'nt 0.10 mm like the thickness of a piecs of paper?

You can still use the metric feeler gauges. Most specs are written in inches and mm. In case it isnt, 1mm is equal to .0394 inches, and just do the math.
For instance, a .10mm gap is equal to .10 times .0394 is equal to .00394". And yes, most typing paper is about .004" thick.
Im not aware and any valve lash thats bigger than .008"

I've got the special tool from yamaha for the exhaust valves, made it a lot easier than using the feeler guages I had. I had even bent them so they'd fit better.
