check out thes foot pegs I fabricated they are stainless steel and bolt right on top of the existing peg(I cut the stock foot peg off the bracket which was alright because I busted the left foot peg in half on the last trail ride) the are very simple to make and I used 1/4thick pltae for the top and 3/16 for the gussets on the bottom the grips are 1/4-20 stainless steel set screws held in with green loctite the top plate is also 2" wide and about 1" lower than the stock foot pegs these things work awsome and look pretty cool to if anyone is interested in fabbing some send me a pm and I will help you out.
