Default What can I expect for $2,500???

Hello....a poor man here. I have finally been able to come up with twenty-five hundred dollars for a used ATV. (I just stopped feeding my kids, and told the wife to get a job!)
Seriously, If you were me and had the measley ammount I have, what would you expect to get for that ammount?
Any potential pitfalls I should be aware of?
btw, I know this topic is pretty vague, but any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Location: Beckley, WV-will travel FAR for a good deal!

Bought my warrior for $2500 about a year ago. There are some nice quads out there for that price range just have to look around. Best thing to me if looking for a sport quad (which not sure if you are) I looked for one that was still stock figuring was probally not ran to death like maybe one that had been modded out. I know you can find modded ones still in good shape but just figured the chances of problems would be smaller. Good luck

If youre looking for a 4wd ute...youre gonna have to be very lucky. They dont usually drop that far down in price for even old junkers.
Now if youre interested in 2wd utes, or sportys, youll have lots to pick from. I just picked up a 300ex for 1500, and just needs about 200 for front end pieces and itll be just fine.(tie rods ends, wheel bearings and brakes).

How are you planning on using it?

I AM in fact looking for a sport quad. Maybe something like a 400ex maybe? Rumor has it that this guy from around here sold his 400 ex for $2500, and I was hoping that where there is one, there might be two.....
Around here (WV) there is nothing but trails, and I would like to have a ute, but don't think I can afford one.

Last august I bought my Warrior for $2500. It was in very good condition and had only been trail ridden about 4 times. In fact, I did the first oil change on it. So, just look around like I did and you could probably find a newer quad out there in your price range.

Good luck!

Oh, and to answer "how I will be using it?', just cruising through the woods on trails (some mud, but always a way around), exploring and having a good time. (not even for hunting, my brother has an Arctic Cat 500 for that).

For $2500.00 you can have a nice sport ride. You may have to be patient and willing to except some cosmetic damage though. If you want a 400EX, that is do able. Just stick to your guns and maybe bring a buddy along for a neutral set of eyes looking for problem areas. I am sure you can find a nicely set up 300EX or Warrior also in that price range, Banshee's and LT250R's if you would rather get a 2-stroke.

I got my first Blaster, a 99 in 2002, for $2250. Excellent condition, included a 5*8 steel trailer, helmet and boots.

You could get probably a 4 year old 300EX too. A 400EX could be hard to find at $2500, unless it is beat up
