Default '05 Scrambler 4 wheel drive - is this normal?

I have a '05 Scrambler that I bought almost 6 months ago (warranty is about to run out).

Something that has bothered me about the machine since I bought it is the 4 wheel drive. I need to know if this is "normal" or if I have a problem that I should get fixed before the warranty runs out. Heres the scoop:

When I have the machine in 4 wheel drive, and put it into reverse and back up a few feet (normal speed etc etc), put it back into forward and give it some gas - it wants to pull to the left - its a fairly decent pull. I have to fight it by pulling to the right if I want to drive straight. After a few feet - this goes away, and the machine continues to drive straight with no problems. The *only* time it pulls to the left like this is if I am in four wheel drive and go into reverse, then when I come out of reverse to drive forward - it pulls to the left. It feels like the front left wheel drags slightly for a few feet. I dont feel any binding, or hear any unusual noises etc, I just have to "fight" it for a few feet after coming out of reverse.

Ive been told that this can be considered normal. Is this true?

Do other scrambler owners have similar issues with their machines?

I should mention that I have noticed this pretty much since day 1. I bought the machine new off the showroom floor, and its pretty much been doing it the entire time. Its not a major pull, but I definetly have to turn to the right to keep going straight when coming out of 4 wheel drive.

Thanks.

hey man i bought a an 95 as weel and the same thing happens to mine and if you read your manual it tells ya a procedure in how to get it to stop , but it does not tell ya how to fix . What i did was change my front hub oil and it seems to do the trick , i change my front hub oil quit often , its pretty simple . Try that and hope it works out for you .

Hmmm its been doing it pretty much since day one, so I dont think the oil is bad? (Unless they filled it with the wrong kind when they assembled it??)

I dunno. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and get their opinion. I will also take a closer look at the owners manual.

My dealer didn't grease anything so my swing arm bushings were destroyed after a couple months. I refuse to take my machine back to the dealer. If they messed up that bad to begin with who knows what other problems they'd cause. I'll fix them myself later when they won't stay tight when greased.

Mine would grab and pull to the left after a jump. It got worse until it would do it randomly all the time. I got the same suggestions about the hub fluid and I changed it and it works perfect every since.

I called the dealer just now to ask them about it. It says "ya thats a common thing with the polaris 4 wheel drive". He mentioned I could "losen up" the hub a little bit which should correct the problem.

Now, Ive never done any work on this thing yet, beyond greasing / chain lube, so Im not familiar with how the hubs work etc (noobie!) so I dunno.

I have to take it in for them to test the computer for the scrambler computer recall anyway - Ill do that this week and have them look at the 4 wheel drive while I am there. Since its under warranty, Ill let them deal with it

My '05 does the same thing. The manual adresses it a bit, and my dealer confirmed that this is a normal thing as long as the resistance goes away after a few feet. If it does not, then there is a problem. This is the first time I've heard the lube change suggestion, so I'll try that for sure. You mentioned a recall on the '05. I haven't heard, does Polaris have this on thier website? Where did you hear about it?
