Gal needing help please

Hi. We've just purchased mountain acreage and want an ATV for mobility around the mountains. Mostly just to get around to our deer stands and the views, etc. My problem is that I don't know which ATV is best for my needs. I know I'll need 4wd and a vehicle that will go up steep inclines. Speed isn't a need, it's something that can handle rugged inclines. They are steep at times. Can anyone suggest the best machines for this need. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get from the experienced. Thanks. LuAnn

Thanks. Do you think the Rhino could handle mountain terrain with slopes up to 45 degrees--both up and down--carrying two people?? Some slopes are rocky, some are dirt. Also, in your opinion, can you compare the Rhino with the Ranger 4X4... would you have a preference... given my needs.. and why?

Well I've never ridden one myself, just letting you know of the ones I'm aware of.
You saw the responses in the hill climbing thread, doesn't sound like that would be a problem.
A 2 seat atv might be more fun for you. Especially one of the big-bores. You'll find them a real blast and they will end up being just as much for recreation as work.

The Rhino will do anything! A quad takes a lot of experience to be a really good rider, and this is especially true of the huge, overweight, monster utilities! The Rhino has car like controls, and is a better choice for folks like hunters, that aren't going to ride enough to develop advanced riding skills.
The Rhino absolutely needs something like a net over the side opening, so your leg doesn't come out during a rollover. This oversight makes the machine a lawsuit waiting to happen!

Rhinos are excellent choices. You need to look at Polaris too.. my favorite choice would be the KUBOTA RTV with a full cab.
Plus it is a diesel, and uses the same running gear as their legendary tractors. Not real fast, but they are built like tanks. If you are going to work it, that is the best choice. Their bed is a hydraulic dump bed by the way.
Also look at Nichols trailers on this website... they ahve some neat logging skids, and trailer units for use behind ATV's that will help haul things. Although with an RUV/RTV, you will have a built in dump bed.

i have ridden both the ranger and the rhino and for your needs i would say hands down the rhino it has more of a sporty feel and a smaller sexier size for getting around tigher area's then the ranger. and i personal think the rhino is more fun to drive. if you said you were gonna haul haul haul all day and pull stuff all the time i would say maybe the ranger even thought the rhino can handle itself very nicely in hauling and pulling. and besides the rhino is cheaper then the ranger and with the yamaha name stamped on the side you know you are getting a great machine. i haven't driven the new arctic cat prowler yet but i deffinately wouldn't rule that out either. heard alot of good things bout them.
