2002 500 ho creeping

I have had a problem with creeping since I have owned this machine. I have taken in the primary clutch and had it shimmed and it worked for about 25 miles and now I’m back to where the machine dies if I try to stop and shifting with the motor running is impossible.

I have tried all the things like shimming the secondary and they don’t work. It seems that the clutch just wears out, so I need to just buy a new clutch. But at 400 bucks I am willing to try something.

Does anyone know if the new clutch is in order The machine has less than a 1000 miles and seems a little early to need a new one.

Belt is new
Idle is right
Secondary is right

Are any motor mount bolts loose? Is the engine aligned?

Zbart...I know that when my scrambler started "creeping", I only needed to shim the secondary and did nothing to the primary!
There is an alignment tool which just checks to see that Primary and secondary are SQUARE to each other. If not that usually requires the secondary being shimmed or checking that the engine itself is SQUARE and not cocked to t
he left or right. The alignment makes sure the belt rides in the sheave correct.
Like Polaridoo stated....Mounting bolts loose?
Is your idle up too high?
Hope ya get it corrected.

well mine creeps also not to the point it will kill engine though but it will take off in reverse or low ...what you need to check is the sheaves on the clutch and check its movement to do this i take my cover off and very carefully ride it without the cover keep your pants out of the way (duct tape) works make sure as the rpms go up and down the outer sheave comes off the belt when it idles if the sheaves are worn badly with low spots way down near the center your clutch is pretty worn (mine is worn so bad it has heat cracks in it and it has to taper left at the bottom new one coming soon) the inner ribs on mine do not set down on the grooves in the pulley because of the severe wear on the sheave and i think that is what cause mine to creep
