I was just wondering what the best trail riding atv would be. I've heard that SPORT atv's are fun on the trails, but I'm looking for any ideas?

My pick for the best trail bike of all time is the 300EX. It is medium size, so it fits between the trees easily and handling is extremely agile, yet it has descent suspension. True it's no powerhouse, but on a trail big horsepower is just wasted anyway. Second choice would be the 400EX, and third the Z400.

The Hondas are great because their engines will lug down, and you can ride slow through technical stuff, without having to work the clutch. Just put it in 1st gear, and idle on through.............

For just trails I would definatly go with a new 400EX. Those things are tanks and like said before they can be LUGGED around. The aftermarket is pretty well priced also. I was thinking about buying one before my 450 but considering that I don't care for trails that much and am more into playing around and track riding this was a better choice for me. If you don't care for that bike my second choice for trails would be the raptor 660.

I think he needs to be more specific on what type of trails he will be riding, and what kind of budget we are looking.

The 300ex and 400ex are great trail bikes, they will lug down low and have plenty of power for trail riding. Both are absolutely bullit proof. And if you want a little more performance, the Z400 a good, reliable machine. It won't lug like the EX's, but it would be better suited on more wide open type trails.
