Is the 06 Polaris cv boot setup the same?

I was just wondering if they've fixed this big problem yet, I got so sick of them ripping on my Sportsman 400..it was one of the only reason's I sold it, I just couldn't afford to keep paying over $100 parts and labor every time they ripped.

there useing thicker rubber on the 06's donno if its worked better at all, i know there redesigning the IFS and IRS on the sportsmans for 07 or 08 so we'll maybe see some change then

Jayri, it just seems like some people have trouble with the boots, while others don't. Unfortunately, I had some trouble with boots tearing in the rear end until I installed some heavy duty ones from gorilla axle. If anyone else is having problems with boots tearing I highly recommend gorilla axle. www.gorilla-axle.com

if you have a stock 05 700 and you have never replaced a boot on it. then you only ride it on the highway or you have done something to modify the stock boot gaurds. or your just a liar

i remember on my 800, i put 700 hard miles on it of street and heavy offroad use and i only got 1 torn boot, and it was my own fault.

What's odd about my boots ripping is I didn't even know when I ripped them, I guess it was on a trail somewhere but it happened three times, I got to where I was afriad to drive it in the trails, so I sold it. But this was the only reoccuring problem, so if they do or already have put stronger boots on it I'd definitely take a look at Polaris again in a few years when I feel need for a change.

unfortunately boot tearing is the nature of the beast, every forum, every machine has the problem, depending on what you ride in....I put on stick stoppers and haven't had any problems....I believe the new '06 machines use thicker boots...

you put 2300 miles on your Sportsman. that's impressive!
i've been riding Sportsmans since '98 and i have yet to rip a boot. if a stick flips-up, i'll pull it out. no big deal.
yes, i think if i left it jammed in there i would have a torn boot.
doesn't seem to be a big deal to me. and i trail ride, mud ride, deep woods ride, and plow snow all Winter.
