400EX brand new..........ticking
#1
My EX is 3 days old and has about 5 hours on it, was riding it last night and noticed a slight ticking like a valve tap, called my dealership today and they said that it is charisitic <--spelling of the machine that when they adjust the valves after the 20 hr break in that it sometimes gets louder! Is this normal for my 400EX? Not a violent tap but it is audiable. Does anyone elses do it?
Also can't decide betweem a big gun system or a white bro's pipe which provides more HP which is louder? Want people to hear me comming
, not my valves.
Also have to confess that i have been riding a little hard what is considered an acceptable break in, I have been doing a lot of wheelies 1st and 2nd gear, peg the throttle but not for longer then 2-4 sec am I being to hard on it?
Sorry so long. Thankx

Mine Ticks to. For a pipe Get a White Brothers. Big Gun Pipes do not have much top end. Check out this page.

After you break it in, adjust your valves again. Should run nice and quiet. Get the White Bros, all the big guns I've seen perform make the machine seem sluggish. Its deffinatly not as snappy as the WB.
