Puncture resistent tires??
#1
Any opinions on some of the better puncture resistent tires? I'm having REALLY, REALLY bad luck with flats, mostly on the sides/edge and is becoming very irritating.
I'm currently sitting on two slow leaks on two different quads, one I can probably fix the other I've already plugged three or four times, I can keep air in it and ride half the day but still annoying.
My problems have mostly been while riding in rocky areas so I wonder if I should reduce my air pressure some??
Any feedback is appreciated.

I run the xct's too and I love them. I was going to suggest running lower pressure as I started reading and saw you've got that idea. I run 3lbs in mine. Haven't had a problem and I've nailed some rocks hard enough to bend my rims. Also my brother stripped his roof and re-roofed it and we've been riding all around the yard without a nail through the tire, but my dad got one through his foot. That may just be chance, but I know they are rugged. Me, my brothers, and some buddies all run them and haven't had a problem yet.

there is the new HD model, that is a 6ply radial, that will also run flat so you can get back to camp. its my biggest seller at my shop. what i usually do is take a std holeshot, and xcr, and an HD, stand on them all and show how supportive the HD's are, as i way close to 200#'s and the HD does not collapse. and it is still an aggressive tread design ITP HOLE SHOT HD

The HD's are much heavier than the XCT's, but the XCT's are just as strong and resistant to punctures. XCT's are also 6 ply and are designed to resist puctures. The "T" in XCT stands for trail. They are designed for the trails. You're more likely to encounter something that will puncture your tires. XCR's have much weaker sidewalls as they weren't designed for trails, they were designed for racing (hence the "R").
If you get the XCT's you'll love them.
