fastest 400ex

fastest 400ex
i have an 01 400ex stock except for a K&N. the guy i bought it from said it was completely stock. but mine is faster than any other stock 400ex i have ever seen...buy quite a bit. 2 of my friends have 400exs and i can not get their quads to wheelie in 3rd gear at all...i can ride wheelies no problem in 4th and i can lift the front in 5th a bit. one of theirs is even brand new. anyone have any ideas what could be going on here???

Don't know. Line up any 5 off the show room floow and one will be the fastest. Never understood that myself. Slightly higher compression maybe?
Mine wheelies all day in 3rd, easy. Don't really have a open spot to try 4th but I think I would have to sit way back and clutch it to get it up. And that's with a pipe, K&N and jetting.

well i'd say its either weight... which is a maybe.
but its prolly mostly rider... just switch quads and race everyone on eachothers quads. then if you still win you know you are a better/faster rider/racer.

Sometimes an engine gets put together with better tolerances or something. My neighbor has a 1999 400ex that will do 68 mph and it's completly stock right down to the original (and bald) tires.
It'l run away from other Ex's and Z's too.

i got a hundred pounds more weight than both of the kids i ride against and i can still beat them on my quad but not by much. if we switch they leave me...and shawn is a badass rider....danny kinda sux but he is still almost a hundred pounds lighter.
