Bad Vibration
#1
Hi guys..just bought a 2006 500 auto and have 5 miles on it and I'm getting a real bad vibration type noise, its very hard to tell where its coming from maybe belt case area. does not make the sound when idleing, seems to start around 2000-2000 RPMs.and quits around 3000rpms? doesnt sound good though. Ive rode the first 5 miles pretty easy never above 1/2 trottle. This quad is replacing a stolen 2005 500 and I never heard this sound when breaking that machine in. any idea's?

Got it fella's...the skid plate for the cycle country plow I just installed was putting so much pressure the the footrest bracket that it was making contact with the transmission housing. removed the plate and vibration gone. I knew it had to be something stupid.

Not yours, scooters. But remember for something to rattle and make noise, there has to be something causing the movement. That's the one lung 4 stroke motor. If anything is loose or just barely touching they will rattle because single cylinder 4 stroke engines have way to much time between power strokes. Once revs get high enough the time between power stroke shortens and the vibration seems to disappear. It doesn't, it just happens so fast you don't feel the seperate pulses anymore.

thanks for your responces
i used to have the 02 400 polaris and never felt the vibration in my feet.
i don't think it's the single cyl 4 strokes. i drove many dif kinds and never felt that.
but who knows
