700 EFI or 800 EFI

77cc's to be exact. The 700efi is acutally a 683cc and the 800efi is actually a 760cc! If it's 06 models not that much different but if it's 05 models, there are lots of differences besides the 77cc's!

no facts here, just IMHO.
i think the SP450 will replace the SP500 carb.
my 500EFI has the POWER of my old '05 700EFI Dale Jr edition.
therefore i think the 500EFI will replace the 700EFI.
the 800 will survive as the KING.
i really don't see a future for the 700EFI. as i wrote, the power is so close to the 500EFI. all NON-EFI 2006 Sportsmans lack EBS. did you know that?
if i were you GoingVertical, i would test the 500EFI VS the 800 then decide.

I'm going to have to try one of these 500EFI's out then, because no polaris 500 I've ever ridden has been anywhere near the 700 efi, there was even a noticeable difference between carbed 500's and 600's.

There are alot of differences in the 05 and 06 models for all the sportsmans.
They have the 800 clutching
They have stronger cv boots
You no longer have to push the foot brake to shift to high or park
Rear plastic is wider around the exhaust, for heat reasons
Decals changed
500 carb doesn't have ebs (which is a good thing), also has the 25" 489 tires as opposed to the 26"PXT
All I can think of right now, but that's enough to make someone with an 05 model like myself furious! All these changes are all my dislikes on my 05.

I just bought a 06 500efi and 06 800efi.. I live in Minnesota and my 04 700carb is just hard to start in the winter. we also have a 2000 SP500 and the new 500efi just plane blows it away.. as a fact, my wife was not happy when she 1st rode the new 500efi as it was just to quick when she hit the gas.. she has been riding it for a week now and she said it just took a bit to get the hang of the new machine.. She now loves the new ride and it handles better and turns much tighter then her old one..
as for he question on the 700 vs 800.. there is almost no differance but the 800 has the very sharp rims, duel exhst, rear rack and the additional cc's.. rims are not cheap and rear rack on pure polaris is an addtional 70 bucks.. so you get a sweeter sound, nice rims, rear rack extention and the biggest machine going..
did I mention it will pull a wheely from a standstill...
It all adds up to a better deal..
Msrp on the polaris web page only has it at about $700 more ?? but who pays msrp ??
Wheel and deal and get the 800!

I thought that the 500 efi was taking place of the 600. also why the 500 efi do not come with crome wheels when the 700 efi and the 800 does. i thought they put them on the 700 efi to make them look different from the 700 card or am i wrong, because at my dealer i see a lot of 700 efi with the crome and not the 700 carb
