i currently ride a 2001 raptor660r i love the power an torque the motor produces but i am afraid my raptor is falling behind on power and technoligy. i am interested in purchaseing a new atv but i can not decide between the new yfz450,honda450r,or raptor700. i am pretty much a trail rider now but i want to get into racing could any one recomend one of the three?
thanks alot for all your help after reviewing your answeres i will purchase my new quad.

If you are serious about racing I would look at one of the 450's. Between the two, they are both awesome so I would just choose which one you think would fit you better.
The Rappy 700 looks to be an awesome machine, if you just mainly trail ride, I'd probably pick it.

I'm thinking about the 450R 2006 model.I can get the electric start OTD at Abernathys in Tennessee(1 hour away)for $5814 or kick start for $5614 OTD.The 2006 YFZ is $6214 OTD.I haven't seen the upgraded Honda run yet though,so I can't say how much stronger running they are compared to the previous year or compared to the YFZ.I do like Hondas reliability.

Wiat for the new Suzuki 450, it's fuel injected (vertually no tuning), already has the wider rear axle and wider front end. Already has a super strong steal rear swing arm, yes steal, that's what most racers use and is what they push in the aftermarket for strength. It will be the big dog on the block by the end of next summer.
What ever you do,
Good Luck
Have fun
