Default 300ex tranny question

Does anyone know what would lcause the transmition output shaft to strip on my 300ex? And not strip the sprocket out first? Bike is not raced, woods riden, stock except for ehaust and new ITP holeshots.

Thanks

Dont have any pic's to scan up at this time, out board 3/8" or so of splines are stripped. Appears that the splines sheared off, sproket is basicly ok though.

Sounds like you snaped the bolt that held it in place. I did it on my 250x but I towed it home so I only had to replace the bolt.

The bolts that hold lock collar are ok, its the output shft plines that stripped. Have been told by service that some of them do it, temper may not have been right. That its uncommon but yet not that uncommon.
