Dont know if you made the right choice.

I can't decide if the HO is worth $1150 more than the non-HO model.

Our local dealer is selling a SP500 (2000) for $5349 + set up & freight. Thats $50 cheaper than what I paid for my Rancher back in March of this year. The best I can get a HO for is around $6499 + set up & freight.
decisions, decisions.........

Being the cheap skate that I am, I probley would have just bought an HO cam and carb and pocketed the other thousand dollars.

BUT HEY...

If you got the money and you want an HO,I say "More power to ya". That new Sp is going to be a blast, I bet. Be sure to give us a full review after you get it.

Congrats

sliverado

tell me if u think your new HO rides firmer than your 99 sp500.several people have said that the HO's have stifer springs in them. i hope polaris dident stiffen up the ride to much cause thats what i like about the machine.

later

Hey Silverado, congrats, but why didn't you get a SILVER one?
I just put a white spring in my Silver H.O.
I can't tell much difference. I think the Scrambler clutch works so well it just doesn't make much difference. If anything I think it is a little smoother on take off. The short blue (stock) spring is a bunch shorter and let the clutch "clunk" and grab real early. The longer white spring holds it back a little and makes it smoother. On my old 2000 the white spring woke it up and gave it a little kick. Go figure.
The H.O. has stiffer springs, I miss the cushy ride but I like the control and tautness of the new suspension. It is definitly well matched to the hotter engine, and could carry more-plow better, jump better, land better. If I had to have the cushy ride back I would still go for the H.O. just put 2000 rear springs on. That would be pretty cheap. The stiffer front springs are not an issue, "It's gotta be in the Butt, Bob!"
Silly Later,,,,,Fourlix
