I have at least two friends that have had the Big Gun pipes fall apart after a year or less. The aluminum cans seem to have trouble with the vibration. If you have a DS650 I would look at HPR Top Gun. www.hpresearch.net. It makes the most bottom, mid and top end power of any pipe and with the 12 disc end, it is between 96 - 98 dec. I love mine. Huge top end improvement over my Yosh.

Get the big gun race series its cheaper than the quiet one. My quiet series blew the whole inside of the pipe out. no more baffal , spark arrester or anything. super loud but creats alot of power.

2big,

How long did your Big Gun Pipe hold up before blowing its guts out?

1 month, I think they dont wrap the fiberglass packing very well, you could see big long strings of packing shooting out the end of the pipe when it happened. im assuming the packing covered the spark arrestor then boom, thats the best thing that could have ever happened to it. It doesn't have any trouble breathing anymore.

2big,

One of the friends I mentioned picked up bottom end when the whole core came out. The pipe sounded like an empty gymnasium but he felt like he lost top end power until he re-installed the core, packing and riveted the heck out of where the can meets the pipe. After his repairs, top end power was back. I don't know if he had to rejet. Did you have a similar experience?

Bottom line, after these testimonies I would think twice about a Big Gun pipe, period. My $.02.

BTW, CrazyRider826, The HPR guys think the stock head pipe works as well as the aftermarket ones which would mean you can save some money with a slip-on! They dyno test everything. I trust their word.

Hey CrazyRider826,
I was shopping for a pipe a while back and just opted for the Ron Woods pipe.
This pipe is awsome in my opnion... a littel more price wise but it sounds good all around and has the best gains where I wanted it most in the Mid to Top end.
The BigGun Pipe I think is for so many varieties of bikes but not specific to any one...The DS is tend to think needs better flow than say a 450 or 500 cc bike.
Check em out ... you won't be disappointed... : - )
