I have an '06 Raptor 700 that everyone said would be the fastest quad in production but my '05 DS kills it by at least 5 quadlengths on a short comp hill. We tried switching riders and the results were the same. The DS killed it. Anyone else finding the Raptor to not be that fast? It seems to run fine and to its credit is faster than the '03 660 we sold.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

should have gotten the yfz if u wanted it to be fastest production quad out, dont worrie slap a 12 tooth sprocket on the front of that bad boy and get rid of the airbox and maybe a jet mapping and u will be happy

 

You may need to change your tires. I have a 700r and it was slow with sand geckos (im not sure what tires you are running). I bought some 22x11x8 triple buff 14 paddle gliders and it made all the difference. After the tire swap I was beating piped 450's, piped banshee's, and DS's all day with it stock. Now my bike is piped and I kill them off the line and up the hill. I have had a lot 450,banshee,raptor owners tell me my bike is very fast. Good luck! I love my raptor.

 

You are comparing a stock Raptor to the DS in your sig? If the Raptor was built up similarly then it might be fair(and a lot closer.)
