went to the dealer today

I went to one of my local yamaha dealers today and i saw the 700 raptor i love it so i asked how much i can get it for 6,500, i can also get a 2006 banshee for 5,700 so i have to decide witch one i want. i have to wait till january and then i have to sell my quad but it will be worth it. the dealer told me that the 700r is hard to ride he said he test rode every bike in the store and he said i would be better off with the 660 because the front end on the 700r doesnt want to stay on the floor no matter how hard you try so witch one would you go with i love banshees and everytime i ride one i dont want to get off them but the 700r i hear is a great trail bike.
are there any known problems with the new 700r i should know about?

Dealers will try to sell you what is not moving off the floor , if I was into the pure sport quad , out of the ones you mentioned I would go with the 700 r , My choice out of all brands would be the KFX 700 Kawi for the trail.

i saw the kfx 700 and didnt like it i like sport quads and sitting on it reminded me of a utility
i dont find banshees that hard to ride i have ridden a heavily modded banshee a banshee with pipes and a stock banshee and i found them all pretty easy to ride lots of fun.

Sounds like the Dealer wants to move the 660. He's prolly stuck with a few left overs that'll take him a year and a half to sell. Dealers just want to move units. Half the crap that they spew is BS, and the other half is only half true....

The dealers half right. On the loose stuff it stays down pretty good but on asphalt with mods its a ****!!!!!!!!! Little harder to launch than my modded 660 was. Lotta power down low.................but thats not a BAD thing! Is it?............

thats what i thought i been thinking all night on what to get and im not sure if i want a banshee or the 700r
if i get the 700r ill be the first one around here to have one but its a first generatio0n so i dont know what problems are gonna come up. if i get the banshee there are no problems with it cuz its been around so long.
i dont plan on modding them any time soon. witch would you guys buy i ride trails but i dont find the banshee to hard to ride in trails.
the 700r has an aluminum frame wont that make it easyer to bend if you rolled

All I can say is my 700 so far has performed flawlessly. Not 1 complaint. Never riden a Banshee but I want to. My take on your situation is this;
The 700 is the new wave. Its only going to get better from here. They are pretty awesome stock and we haven't even seen a full aftermarket run at them yet.
The Banshee is quite intrieging. I might even want to try one someday. They been making them so long now that you will always be able to find one used...........am I right?
........but its your choice and a hard one at best.

Sounds to me like you really want a Banshee because youve ridden them and like them.
All youve heard about the 700 is other peoples opinions......big risk buying something you havent ridden before.
Ive never ridden a 660, I can tell you that the 700 loves to wheelie, especially on asphault or in the sand with paddles. In normal terrain you have to tug the bars just a little to get it up, but not much.
There arent any problems with the 700 from the factory. If you want to modify it, you need an aftermarket programmer to adjust the fuel mix.
