hpr pipe?????
#1
A friend of mine got a slip on pipe from the good ol boys at hpr. He brought it over to my house and it did not have a end cap it was uglier than heck and way to loud without the endcap. If it had the endcap it would be a very nice looking pipe. I asked him why he did not have a end cap and he told me that they told him he would get more torque without the end cap and more top end with the endcap ? I thought it would be the opposite of that.
Have any of you heard of this or did he missunderstand them.

Hmm will have to let randall or eric chime in, or someone else who knows the facts. I would guess the pipe was designed to flow best open, and the disc option is mainly for noise pollution control, as well as being a sparky. I do know that with my old WB pipe, if I ran it open it SOUNDED faster (louder than hell) but it seemed to lose torque, with the discs it always seemed to pull better at lower rpms.
I am having a hard time deciding what to put on the new 730.... (has graydon on there now) I am a huge fan of the hmf's (pretty good power, awesome price, and look great) but dont know yet..
eric/randall, do you guys have dyno numbers to compare the top gun on the same bike to an hmf? (hmf with sparky/hmf open - top gun with discs/top gun open?) those numbers would be very helpful
