Has any one bought one, and your thoughts?? Figured the Turbo and Big Bore boys, or the 14:1 compression guys would have tried one out?

I have one but have no info on how will it works. I am still waiting on my valves to be replaced. If you get one you will find out it has a very tight tolerances and may not even turn when installed. It is made that way. Once the engine turn over the blade on the turbine will bend and form a very close seal with the outer cover for better flow. It does work at first I did not believe it at first. I installed it and attached a drill to it and it did turn over.

Hi ERBEDS650,
I am running the ODP High output water pump.
I think it Works great ... the DS really needs it as I ride pretty hard in the dunes and my fan kept comming on all the time bugged me.
This was my last cooling mod next else it was the 300 + thicker radiator and I think it did the trick.
So between the radiator scoops in-line cooler and pump she runs cooler as I don't hear the fan kick nearly as much.
I think it was well worth it.....

I have one but have not installed it yet. Its really too cold out right now to tell how well it works. Once it warms up I'll put it to the test.

For the dunes I found that radiator shrouds helped out quite a bit.

Flyinds, I have the original pre-production pump. I dont have a fan on my bike, just the stock radiator and shrouds. When racing the hill, I would usually shut my machine off when coming down to cool the water, then start it up at the bottom. Now I run it down to, as the my light that tells me the fan should be on comes on when i slow at the top, but goes off just shortly after cruising down. I think its main purpose was for the slow going, cruising speeds that dont get alot of air, nor rpms to turn the water through the system fast enough. It seems to work. I agree with Ds engineer, teamed up with shrouds, its the cooling solution.

Well Viper, I have a suggestion for you. Don't shut your bike off on the way down. Water cooled motors actually warm up when they are shut down. If you keep the water flowing and the air going through the radiator it will be cooler, your best bet is to let the bike keep running on the way down.

That was always my belief too that when you shut down a water cooled motor it typically gets hotter due to no circulation. Sometimes my fan on my DS doesn't turn on until several seconds after shutting down.

I just installed my ODP water pump last weekend but haven't been able to get out and test it. Install was a breeze.

Yep it does heat up after a couple seconds, but the motor generates more heat than that. And since its a thirty second ride down the hill or so, you do the math.

Viper, I just checked your pics and stuff and you're running NOS and what else? Due to your higher performance stuff, maybe a bigger bore, thus less to heat, it may be better to shut it off as you do.
