oil in airbox of bigred and it splutters.
#1
A friend rang me tonight and said his big red is spluttery and dies down and he said there is oil in the airbox. I'am going to go look at it for him. Any ideas whats wrong. All I can think to do is clean air filter carb, new plug and check oil level and maybe a new oil filter. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

3 things can cause engine oil to enter the airbox. Too much oil was put into the motor, depending on where the case breather is located, standing it on end or as silly as it sounds the carb can leak gas into the cylinder. The gas slips passed the rings and into the crank case. The more gas that flows into the case the higher the oil level becomes. This occures with the bike off of course. When you check the oil see if it smells like gas.
