86 TRX 200 SX OIL PRESSURE BLOWOUT
#1
History gfit from garage sale, set outside for 1 year, inside for 6 months. I have rebuilt 2 carborators ,new gas tank, battery, change oil. It runs great BUT it has pressure in the oil. After running it I can unscrew the oil plug & it is like there is steam coming out. The oil is not hot. If I crank it with out the plug it will spit oil out.. One thing when I was working on Carborator it was running real rich & gas could have gone down in the oil.. thanks for any help.. one last thing How much oil does it hold ???? I put 2 quarts in it... ps this is my first time on forum so go ahead & let me have it.

so you say you have steam coming out of the oil cap hole when you take the cap off? That's called "blow-by" and it's basically combusion gasses leaking past the piston rings into the crank case. Now, some may be normal, but if it's a lot then you'll need a top end rebuild. Also, is there a crank case vent on there or a breather tube going to the air cleaner? That's supposed to vent the excess pressure into the atmosphere or the air intake to keep the pressure from blowing the crank seals out. Those tubes could be clogged.
as for how much oil, i dont know. you'd have to find a manual somewhere.
good luck, hope this helps.

thanks for the info. there is a tube coming out of the top of head . looks like it goes in the frame & then back to the air filter. going to take it off & make sure it is not stopped up.

THANKS I got it hot today & it sounds like I might need a little top end work.It was not real bad but a good ear could here a little slack in the piston..never have done any top end work but it could't be that much to it.
