A friend of mine is wanting my brother and I to put an XR650L engine in his 99 400EX chassis. I am a metal fabricator and my brother is a profesional Honda mechanic.

Has anyone ever heard of anyone doing this?

 

How much would he want for the 400ex engine and the wiring harness, starter etc..... ?????????

 

That pluss the XR chassis is going to be the price for our work.

Not sure, might buy another XR400 and convert it to electric start like my bike and sell it.
About 6 months ago we traded a 97 CR250 engine even up for a 99 400EX engine and we are in the process of switching it to XR tranny, center cases, clutch cover so I can put it in my empty XR chassis. The reason I have a empty XR chassis is because my XR400 engine is now in my 97 CR250 chassis (BBR conversion).
This four wheeler should be pretty AWESOME if it all works out.

Bet it would fit nicely in my quadracer

man, jfboy, you are persistant! 3 posts saying the same exact thing!! by the way, a 250 2-stroke isnt all that bad of an engine...
