I might be able to help you. My house is four miles from the dunes. Stock knobbies are sufficient, but you will have to keep your speed up. You won't climb up Buttercup or Comp Hill, either, but the trails will still be very fun. If you want to go everywhere, get some paddles. Actually, I'm sure you've heard about the dry conditions and wild fires, so the sand will be especially dry and loose. That said, I strongly recommend paddles. You don't need the front tires because the knobbies will steer just fine. They might push a little in turns, but you'll get used to it quickly. As far as filters go, I have used K&Ns, but only with a prefilter. The prefilter will keep the larger grains of sand from settling in the pleats of the filter. Your stock filters will do just fine, but make sure they are cleaned and properly oiled before you go. If you still have your airboxes, you won't get very much sand on them. You don't necessarily need a slip-on exhaust system. I have seen and ridden plenty of stock 450s and Raptors out there. The dunes in OK aren't really huge, so you'll have plenty of power. My buddy owns a shop and he can hook you up when you get there. Check your private messages because I don't want to get busted for spamming here.

I had an 05 yfz 450 and rode it stock at Little Sahara with no problems at all! I have ridden in the dunes with and without paddles. it is definatley more fun with paddels. It is kinda scary getting stuck just short of the top of a large dune and have to back down it! So i would highly recomend getting a set..you can find them on ebay cheap

Hey Nieswan, did you get my PM? If not, look at the right margin of this page, near the top of the thread. There is a light blue box that has your member name on it. Under that, there is a link to your private messages.
