Default No rev limiter on '06 AC 90 DVX???

Today, I removed the spacer from the front pulley on the transmission and WOW!!! What a difference!!! It has to be doning every bit of 30mph!! It didn't spit and sputter as before.

I was certain it had a rev limiter but it goes fast enough for me without any other modifications. (I do wish I could lower the stall speed though.)

Good luck on yours!!!

Jay

So if I wanted to do that on my '06 AC 50 would I follow the same directions as the ones that were given for the previous years AC50's and 90's for removing the clutch ring. I other words is the one you removed it the same clutch ring that they have always used as a limiter for the AC 50's and 90's?

What you say about it not spitting and sputtering is making me wonder if my spit and sputter at full throttle is the rev limiter or the clutch limiter. Did you need an impact wrench to remove your clutch limiter, and you say you are going 30mph now, about how fast were you going before you removed the limiter?

Default No rev limiter on '06 AC 90 DVX???

Sunday, I clocked it along side another ATV at 15mph topped out. Monday, I removed the spacer in the front pulley and just drove it on my subdivision streets. (I know... I know...) I didn't have anything to clock it with but it was going SUBSTANTIALLY faster on top end.

Yes, I did need an impact wrench to break the nut loose. When I tried it with a ratchet, the pulley would spin. I held the pulley with my hand and hit with impact a few times to break it loose.

Good luck!

I started to take mine off last night, but I did not have an impact wrench. I tried to get the clutch nut loose, but like you said I could not hold it. I am now on a quest to find an impact wrench. I will let you know when I get it removed. I read something saying that removing the clutch limiter should add about 10mph.

I found an impact wrench and there was a clutch limiter and I removed it. It made a big difference. Just the amount of top speed increase I was looking for probably 5-8 mph increase. If you do any more Mods on your 90 let me know, as my son grows I am sure I will be looking for a little extra.
