Has anyone had any problems with the clutch on the raptor yet? I had mine fade badly last night riding, we was riding up a mountain ( hard on the clutch i know ) and mine experienced clucth fade badly!! I was with my neighbor and his never had a prolem and he's 20-25 pounds heavier, mine also feels lighter to operate. We got the the machines 2 days apart a week ago. I know dirt wheels said the clutch was flawless in there test, im thinking i just got a bad one or it wasnt assembled properly. any info would be great!!!!

i built my raptor myself as i work at a dealership, i didnt even think about checking my freeplay in the clutch lever...after a couple of rides my clutch started slipping, i adjusted the freeplay correctly and no more slipping....hope this helps

The free play adjuster locking nut was lose and i thought thats what it was at first but after adjusting it it went away twice more, it was already very hot and stunk of burnt clutch. After it cooled i had to readjust it back to where it was, seems to be a heat problem as the case was so hot i coulnddt touch it but so wans't my neighbors and like i said he had no problems.

Is this the new problem of the week? I know that Ohio has a lemon law, I wonder if it applies to ATVs too. I would surely be checking into it.

Mr. 2-stroke, a friend of mine with a raptor fried his clutch(as described by the dealer) while riding up a fairly difficult mountain trail. We rode together eariler that morning on a very easy trail at about 9000 feet and the bike was running very good. Later that afternoon on the other trail was were the problem occured. He was able to coast downhill all the way to his truck. The bike should be ready this week, I will post more as the info becomes available. I got to ride his raptor and its as good as everything that has been written about it.

my raptor also has a bad clutch fade (and I just got it a week ago) the clutch is adjusted right, if I ride through some tight up hill trails using the clutch ALOT to maneuver around I must re-adjust it! I have had this problem with other quads also and recommend a good aftermarket clutch. SEE MY post about what a guy told me his dealer told him about raptors having a synchronized tranny....
