Well i havent really seen any fast preds in along time.....only seen 1 or 2 at some local dunes that were pretty fast and i dunno what they had done to them...but there was one out on the frozen lake out by my place and he couldnt keep with me on the lake...the old 660 raptor seems a bit faster than them and the new 700r really should be faster than them....im not saying your wrong but thats just what i have seen and think.

 

i agree with DuneRider. The 660 Raptor and 500 Predator were a close match. So the 700 is bound to be faster then the 500 considering its faster than a 660. Thats just my 2 cents. Mace

 

Yea, and dont even make us get into pipe filter and jet mods either, where both th raptors show their glory....Especially the 660r.The pred gets is *** handed to it then(pardon my language).But there is a video of a stock rap 660 and an ~05~ tld pred on putfile dot com.Ill get the link in a sec.Btw, the 660 wins...LOL

I haven't seen a predator against a 700r but I did see a predator race a 660r. Two of my friends bought quads a couple of years ago. One bought his 660r and the next day the other bought his predator. Both stock they raced that weekend on pavment and the raptor won 5 out of 5 times. They were pretty close but the 660r was never in danger of losing. I don't know if the story goes the same way on dirt but from what I have heard it does.

 

My buddy bought his Pred about the same time I bought my 700R. We both have about equally matched skill, he's a little better on the track, and I'm a little better on the trails. When both were stock I would beat him every time on any terain. He put on high flow filter and a pipe, and would just beat me by a small margin. I put on the airbox kit, and uncorked my stock muffler and now I beat him again. But you have to be realistic here. You are comparing a 500 to a 700, the pred is lighter, but it's not an enormous weight difference. You can get into the "what if you put this on this bike" game all day, and that can go on forever. But the bottom line is displacement. If you have no mods, or put the same type mods on both bikes the one with the most displacement is always going to be faster, unless there is a huge weight, or skill difference. Each bike has it's own characteristics, and has thigs that it is better at, and worse at than another bike. I always say, pick the bike that just feels good to you when you're riding it, is right for your skill, and how, and where you are going to be riding it. Then just have fun.

 

The Predator is about 415lbs dry, the 700 is 396dry.

 

hey guys.....im the guy who put in the ?........sorry to say but displacment has nothing to do with it.........i have a 04 tld pred i bought it brand new in aug......my buddy bought a 06 raptor 700r we race on a paved road all the time and i have never lost......my skill level is a bit better but we race from a rolling start and sometimes i wait untill he goes then i give it and still go by him.........i porb have 5 to 7 mph on him............so 500 cc 412pound predator vs 700cc 396pound raptor.... the pred wins.........nothin bad about the raptor i bought my bike thinking my buddy was going to beat me so imagine how happy i was..........thx guys
