looking for a pic or a link to a pic of a hawkeye with some nice rims tires and bumpers anything besides stock...

 

I'm working on one but not quite finished yet. I just installed 25"ACT's, rack extenders, front bag, rear l&r box. Still deciding on rims and I have a deal struck with my dealer to swap my green plastics for red. It'll be a sweet ride when finished.....

I'll get some pics up when all is complete, finding rims with the stock width and offset is impossible. Anything other than the stock rims will make it wider and I really don't want that, the reason I got the Hawkeye was to get down the tighter trails that I quit riding with the mammoth Sportsman. I'd like to keep it narrow with the tires under the fenders. Douglas 190's or stock 800 rims are the closest I can get to stock width but the rear still gets 2" wider with them so the search continues....

 

Get 4 SP800 front rims. This should keep it narrow. The 8" rear is not needed.

 

That's a good idea GE but I can't see installing a 10" wide tire on a 6" rim, it would really bow the tread out. I guess I could run 4 front tires but I got to have radials and preferably in the 23 or 24" range which aren't out there other than the oem Wolverine tires at well over a hundred a pop....

 

A 10" tire on a 6" rim won't hurt a thing. There are many who put 12" tires on a 7" rim. Look at all those big mud tires, there all on 7" rims.

 

have you tryed vision wheels they make the wheels on the 800 so they might make a rear in
an 8 inch with the right offset. actually i know from searching the internet they make that rim "the 160 i think" in an 8 inch i just dont know what offset you need...

I would need shorter tires to be able to use the 6" rim, pinching a 25x10 or 11" tire on a 6" rim would create a clearance issue with the running board at higher speed. I don't have much room there now with the 25" on the stock 8" rim. I prefer to run a rim width 2 or 3" max narrower than the tread width of the tire otherwise the tread is rounded out where you wear the center of the tire out or have to run very low on air pressure to get a decent contact area with the ground. The mud tires are setup to run narrow rims for better clean out but I'm not a mudder.

 

I bolted up the stock wheels from my 800, the front width stayed the same but the rear increased an inch on each side. I need a 4+2 front and a 6+2 rear offset to be at stock width. I can only find 5+3 rears or order a custom offset from Douglas on the 190's.
