My rear brakes(foot brake) dont work anymore so I replaced the pads and did the bleed on the foot pedal,
They stll dont work??
I looked in the book to see if there's a way to adjust them but came up blank.

I looked back and found this post, that may help you out.....

Thought I'd let everyone know, the rear foot brake quit working on my 700. I tried to bleed it without success. came in and looked it up in the search on this forum and someone said to bleed it with the cap off of the resevoir, so I tried it again and it works, I can use the pedal again if I need to. I dont use it much but its nice to know I can. Thanks to everyone, I learn lots of tricks from here.

Hope it helps...

Rob

Not to sound cocky, but make sure you are bleeding the right one. There are two. And I had to run almost a quarter of a cup of brake fluid though mine before the bubbles would stop. That hole system can't hole much more than that. Keep trying you'll get it.

in mud all the time i got tired of buying pads and just removed the entire rear brake system.
i dont recommend it, but it was an ecomical reason for me to 86 it.
dont stop too fast from 40+, but im usually riding under 30 anyway.

The foot pedal is not the "rear brake", as you call it. It's called the "auxillary brake". Use it only to shift into High or Park. The hand brake controls front and rear brakes simultaneously. I see a lot of people in these forums, including the original owner of my ride make the same mistake. People ought to read their owners manuals.

Well you are right to a point. But the reason it is called auxillary brake is because if your main brakes fail you have the auxillary as a back up or alot of guys like to use it going down hills. If it does not work at all then it is useless to call it an auxillary brake.. So it is not used just for shifting or they would have not attached it to the rear caliper. The auxillare rear brake has been an on going problem with Polaris. Mine have worked great for about a year but they no longer work. The auxillare brake on these are a joke.

when mine worked, you could tap it to sling the *** end around in corners. it was quite fun on stock tires, but its not a cornering beast anymore with the big mudlites.

the rear brake has its purpose if it worked, and didnt wear out the pad every time i rode.

2manytoys, your auxillary brake no longer at all? Also you state they have been an ongoing problem? Can u state your source for this statement?
