Has anyone mounted a quadovtor temp gauge in a 03 700 sportsmans ligt pod. I think the 03 pod is smaller than the 04. will it fit? Thanks

Sportsman 70003 where did you get the cool oil psi gauge?

 

I got them at O'Reilly auto parts and they are Equus brand gauges.

 

How do they stand up to water and mud? And are they minny gauges in a set of 3?

 

So far they have held up pretty good I have had mositure to get in them. You will need to put silicone around the back where the bulbs plug in. The are they 1 1/2" mini gauges that come with oil, temp & volt.

 

Yes, there is room in your ’03 Pod for the Quadovator Temp Gauge.

I like the look of those Equus gauges (after you painted the trim ring black) and I like the full-sweep dial better than the half-sweep. Unfortunately Equus only sells that full-sweep gauge in their triple gauge kit, if you want to buy it separately they bump you to a half-sweep gauge like in the Quadovator kit.

If you really want an oil pressure gauge then it’s probably worth buying the Equus triple-gauge kit even if you don’t use the volt gauge. If I had room in the pod for another gauge I’d consider adding oil pressure just for looks (looks great!) but accessory switches take up a lot of real estate on the other side of my speedo and I (personally) don’t consider having an oil pressure gauge a matter of practicality like the coolant temp. In all the thousands of miles we’ve put on our 425, 500 and now 700 Polaris motors not one has used oil or suffered from low oil pressure. But the coolant temp gauge is not only practical; we consider it a necessity when we’re riding in mud, water and dust. Knowing the condition/effectiveness of your radiator so you can deal with problems before your coolant reservoir turns into a balloon and you’re puking coolant out on the trail has saved a lot of rides and maybe even some motors for us. I’d feel naked on a machine without a temp gauge now.

If I were to design a temp gauge for our purposes it would be 1 ½” so it would fit in the pod, it would be full sweep and it would start at 150 degrees and top out at 230. Even if it was only half-sweep that degree range would be much more usable for our purposes. The gauges on the market now work just fine but they waste a lot of dial going from 100 to 280.

 

I HAVE A 04 700EFI AND THE HOT LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON I WANT TO PUT A TEMP.GUAGE.CAN U GIVE ME THE STEP BY STEP OF ADDING THE TEMP GUAGE ON.IS THERE A CERTAIN TYPE OF GUAGE TO PUT ON IT?DO U HAVE TO CHANGE THE TEMP.SENSOR OR DO USE THE SAME ONE YOU HAVE.
