iRazrs.......lots of flats???
#1
There is a flood of articles on the recent Baja 1000. I noticed that one team was plagued by flats, and from the photos you can see they are running iRazrs! Another team that they said had no flats, is running Holeshot XCT's!
Now they did say that the team with the Holeshots was running tire *****, so maybe this isn't a fair comparison (most recreational riders aren't going to run tire *****), but is there a lesson to be learned here???
Are iRazrs prone to flats??? I have been running Holeshot XC's for years without incident, but was thinking of switching to iRazrs because they are radial. Wondering if it would be a mistake????

One race by one bike isnt enough to go on, you should know as well as most that the rider's line, choices, and style can cause as many flats as a poorly designed or thin walled tire. Is the irazr going to be more vulnerable than a 6 ply holeshot? Probably, but it's not a 2 ply junk tire either and many gncc racers get great life and reliability from them. I dont think you'd be dissapointed by their resistance to damage, but you ride in much different conditions than I typically do so I cant speak authoritatively on your particular situation. From what I've seen in person and heard on the grapevine they are good tires that have just taken a back seat to the popularity of the hd and razr2.
