Anyone have any info on an egt guage for a Raptor 660r with a full Yoshimura exhaust system?

I was thinking of threading the sensor probe right in the first heatshield bolthole since it it already threaded right there with plenty of metal stock and pretty close to the head.

I don't know how big the bolt hole is that you are talking about, but just make sure that it is large enough to take the threaded end of the EGT gauge. Also make sure that the depth will be sufficient. The bungs that are normally supplied with the EGT kit are usually of a given length to make sure you have correct depth.
Also, I believe you want to be within about 6 inches of the exhaust outlet in order to get an accurate EGT reading. Also make sure the motor is up to temp (ride it around for several minutes) before taking a reading.

I've been running on-board EGT for about 10 years now, the only tool for tuning, no guessing and looking at plugs all the time, a great investment.
The probe needs to be placed no further than 2 to 2.5 inches from the exhaust port to get correct readings, otherwise your wasting your time. Just drill the hole as specified in instr. sheet, install clamp-fitted probe, and your ready.
At WOT tune till reading is around 1350 for gas, or 1150 for alky, and your set.

Is anybody running an EGT guage on a yamaha raptor 660r that is moddified with a complete Yoshimura exhaust system. Or is anybody running an egt system on anything for that matter. Any egt information would be great, especially raptor info, such as the mounting to exhaust procedure and technique, hardware, software, companies, and systems etc. Thanks a bunch!!!!
