Default 250x/350x/300ex compatibility?

ok, I have a 300EX cylinder, 300ex head/valve cover. I planned on getting a 350x and boring it to 83 for a 368. well the 350 I had my eye on sold. I found a bottom end though. will the 300ex cylinder be able to bolt to the 350x bottom end and not have the stroke of the 350 slam the piston into the valves? does a 300 cylinder have enough meat to safely bore to a 83mm? can I get a hotrods assembly for a 350x?

al;so if theres any websites you now of that lists parts compatibility between the different models that owuld be cool.

thanks

I dont think you can combined the two motors together but I heard of poeple taking the 250x motor up to around 406-408 but I think for a 300ex block you can take it to a 350 and be safe.

how do you take a 250x to a 408? I seen a big bore for a 350-368, did you mean a 350x and you then stroke it to a 408?

I dont have the bottom end yet, and the cylinder needs machined and a new piston, and the head is camless so maybe I can find a used running 250x to play with if I can get it up to a 408?

I had one up to a 390 myself but I saw one on ebay taken up to a 406 or 408.
