Default I know, I know. Another Jetting Question

Ok. I ordered an End cap off Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...BSAA%3AUS%3A11

I also ordered a K&N Filter and Outerwear.

I'm gonna keep the stock airbox and lid/hoses will stay ON.

OH ya, My elevation is around 1000 feet most of the time.

Anyone got a Solid Recommendation for this simple setup?

Thanks,
PS--My screename was chosen before I got my 2006 DS650X......So the jetting will be on the DS, not the Predator.

Stock carb, you'll most likely need a 175. Get it, dont run it lean. Needle @ 3 or 4.

Taylor told me to contact HPR and I thought that I would post it here also. I don't have the same End Cap you do, so I wasn't sure if there's a difference???

Ryan, Once everything gets here, I will come over to your house with a Case of Miller Lite. Taylor told me that is what you guys prefer......

If I remember right when I had that set up I ran a 175 without the lid and tubes. Keep a 172.5 and a 170 handy. Needle in 3 or 4th position.

AZPredator,

I did the exact same mods on my 06, and so far it is running fat, the plugs are black. I am in Mesa, going out this weekend to do some more riding and see if it changes with the lid off. I will be interested to see how yours responds to the mods. I had to trim the screen that the packing is wrapped around to get the end cap on. You will like how the bike sounds!

Ben

AZPredator-

One more thing, if you didnt know.....The stock carb bowl screws are made of jello, be sure to use the correct size head phillips and push hard.......they really suck. I would get a set of new screws form the hardware store but in allen head.

get a kit from www.jetsrus.com. they carry genuine mikuni jets and they have stainless allen screws for the carb that replace the factory junk. You will need a good set of jets for tweaking and temp changes so you might as well buy them now. Get one size up on the pilot as well.
