I like the 400ex. Better balance, better handling, better engine imo. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Default Raptor 350 vs Honda 400ex

I ride trails all the time on my Raptor 350, at 6'2" 220LBS it can haul me up some pretty steep hills no prob. I only ride trails and dunes but I ride trails more (muddy ones, rocky ones, woods) and this machine handles awsome it also jumps and slides just as good. Not to mention that the Raptor's over all desigan has been around 20 yrs (the raptor is based off the Warrior) so over that time period all of the bugs have been worked out and its a very reliable proven machine. Now in a race I can't say which one would win because they both have pros and cons, the 400ex has a bigger motor than the Raptor 350 but the Raptor has 1 more gear than the 400ex (5sp vs. 6sp) so I guess it would depend on the rider.

No offense, but you'd guess wrong. The Yamaha needs 6 gears because the engine doesn't have the range of the EX. The Honda just pulls harder over more rpm's. Ride one for a while, you'll see what I mean.

Cousin had a 350 I got to ride quite a bit. I actually like it. Don't mean to sound like I don't. Just think you get a little extra for the additional cost of the EX.

Well I should be able to answer this seeing as I ride both almost everyday. I own a 05 400EX and my father-in-law owns the 350. He has the white 350 with the painted frame, which looks awesome. As for performance, it just doesn't compare in any way to the 400ex(as it shouldn't). He hardly ever rides it so I get on it alot and ride it so it won't be sitting up for a long period of time. The reverse is harder to use, it rides worse than the 400, there's a number of things I can compare. If you're saying one or the other, I'm saying get the 400.
