That’s good advice. As you’re going through the fluid changes it’ll give you a chance to look around for damage / wear. Grab hold of the hubs and suspension parts while it’s up off the ground and the wheels are off. Pull ‘em and twist ‘em to see where you have movement. That’ll indicate worn bushings or bearings.
Lube frequency depends on the conditions you ride in. If you go through a lot of deep water you should lube it more often. My rule of thumb is, if you shoot grease in and no water squirts out of the joint, it probably didn’t need to be greased. If you get water out it did. With a little experimentation on your part after each ride you should be able to come up with a pattern for required maintenance.
