Default PROJECT RAPTOR!

After a few days of thinking, I have decided to start a raptor project. I originally bought my 02 Raptor with thaughts of resale but after flipping through old dirtwheels issues (I have dirtwheels all the way back to 2000) and looking around on the internet, I got inspired to start my own project raptor. I love the reverse and the quad has really nice styling (2 things my 440 lacked) and I know I can make mine into something mean. Heres my idea: Have the blue frame painted silver and clearcoated, black plastic (I already have the front, just need the back), ITP C-series rims, IRazr tires, Pro Circuit T4 exhaust (already have it), nerfs, AC bumper and skids (already have the bumper, just need the skids), 686 kit, Hot cam, Pro taper bars, durablue axle and a few nice billet parts. In the future I'll add +2 A-arms, bigger carbs and a head pipe. My 440EX was mean and it can never be replaced but this Raptor will be BAD! What do you guys think? Any constructive criticism or helpful tips and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Everything that I listed above will be done within the next few weeks and I'll post pictures as soon as I'm finished and maybe some porgress pictures as well.

hey man. everything sounds awsome except the durablue axle. dont waste your money. ive personally seen 2 break. one bend. and two more broke ones in a yamaha dealers shop floor. plus they only warranty you for one broke axle. id go with rpm dominator if youve got the money. if not go with lonestar. they are cheaper and almost as good. that bike will be wicked fast when your done. i dont have quite that much stuff and i already smoke yfzs.
have fun with the project.

420,

Know what ya mean. Mine is an old 2001 that's been tricked out to the gills. I thought about selling it, too and even got the new 700. I now trade off on both and I hate to admit it, but I like the lines of my 01 better and it rides/handles much much better than the 700. Not to mention my 01 smokes the 700. But, then again, if I did the same mods to the 700.....hmmmmmm

Good luck on your project!

I already have the durablue axle, it came on my 02 when I got it. Afterburner, I was looking at your signiture and couldn't help but notice that it says you re-took the guiness ATV speed record. So thats you in the february issue of dirtwheels? Speedy, that tracked maching in your profile looks familiar. Did you buy it from valparaiso? It looks like the one that was for sale over on silhavy road by the railroad tracks.
