Default New atv law?

Heard something today about kids under 16 not being able to ride atv's anymore in the future. They said they heard it on the news. Anyone know anything about this.

I highly doubt that would happen. It would put a big hurtin on the atv industry. There also would be no more youth MX races. Thats like saying Burger King cant sell whoppers to overweight people. 16 is ridiculous.

Thats what I was thinking. I heard 12 with a helmet awhile back. That makes since. But then your still looseing out on the 50cc sales. I had more than one person tell me about it though. Oh well if that ever happens the kids will just ride a ttr90 or something.

Some state represenative in Oklahoma is going to try to get it passed in the state legislature that kids under 12 cannot ride and atv in that state. this would apply to Oklahoma only, but if it passes you can bet other states will be watching.

If you live in OK you need to get all your riding friends to contact their represenative and tell them how you feel about this. Here is a link to the story

FYI,
there IS a NATIONWIDE FEDERAL crackdown on ATVs.

A federal safety panel has taken the first step in issueing new rules related to ATVs that could mean big changes for the industry and consumers.

Its unknown what the new rules will be.But the decision by the Consumer Product Safety Commission to issue an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking related to ATV safety--signaling the panel plans to issue new rules,is a serious step. The last time the commission seriosly concidered ATV safety,it BANNED 3 wheelers.

Not heard anything down here in CALI but get this, my buddy got pulled over for going to fast down the beach. Well he has a suspended drivers license and now he has a ticket for riding his quad without a license. So what about the kids that ride quads that don't have DL's....

In NJ you cannot ride until age 14 period. Doesn’t matter if you're on private property or not.

You guys have a lot of great laws in New Jersey too bad the government doesnt ban motorcycles, cars ,and pollution. Our socialist elected officials will keep making law after law till wee make them stop. The oklahoma thing is for real. Wa, Ca, Mi, Ks,Mo. you name your state you'r next. They will call it "Common sense legistlation." and it's "for the children". Then we'll make it 16 years old then we'll make you get a license at any age then we'll make it too expensive to own one and too big a hassle. Just like every other scam they try to pull, they have to start somewhere. It's called incrementalism and it starts by "protecting the kids" Just like they do guns and everything else they want rid of. Dont fall for it and get it stopped. If you are from Oklahoma and want more information let me know.

Total horse crap..... I am all about protecting our children..... But where does it end.... When my son and I are riding , we are bonding and he isnt 'running the streets' ....... I for one am so sick of peta and all these group that will leave kids sitting infront of a tv instaed of hunting , fishing , atving. and enjoying the great outdoors...... for a country thats prides itself on individual freedom , we sure try our best to take it away.
If big brother is watching....... I'LL RAISE MY OWN KID THANK YOU ........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
