Advantages:
great handling, fast, looks good, fast, very nice stock suspension, engine derived from a legendary line, reliable, fast, came in my favorite color, etc.

Disadvantages:
a bit of a stiff ride at slower speeds, won't load itself into the truck like my kids or dog do,not potty trained like the kids and dog either for that matter.

Oh, yeah, I love this thing.

I don't own one but ride with and against them.

Pros- quick, good suspension, seem reliable, excellent on dirt, ( i think the honda is better but not looking for a pissing match.).

Cons- squatty( taller riders need not apply), four strokes are expensive to mod( I see you have a shee), not comfortable for long rides( the 06 has addressed this I believe). EXPENSIVE!! YOu can do a lot to that shee for what a new yfz costs!

Nice rides though!!!!

I'm pretty familiar with my YFZ right now, I've owned if for a year and just spent the day desert racing it. Tough race by the way, they took us through 12 miles of silt with dust so thick you couldn't even see as far as your own front bumper at times. Pros as previously stated, with great power, good suspension, and great ability to carve a turn. It is a bit squirely at high speed though, and can get sideways in a hurry. I'm talking top end of fifth gear type high speeds here.

Pros- Fast, Reliable, good suspension, good looking

Cons-Uncomfortable on long ride, stock throttle is a crippler, stock seat is one step from a 2x4

Biggest pro- Can be modded for less than $1500 and not many bikes will beat you and still be very reliable

thanks everyone

i rode it the other day-- very powerful-- good acceleration

i try very hard to like the comfort but unfortunately i do not succeed--- i try to think it is comfortable but it is not

i know they have made it for racing but they could have made it very comfortable

banshees are also for racing but are very comfortable

anyways i dont think i will ever trade my shee for a fyz zzzzz

I have a Raptor, a Banshee and I just got about a month ago a 05 YFZ. On my first ride, I thought to myself...Oh no, this isn't going to do...this thing is way to stiff. The seat felt totally jacked up as I was use to the Raptor and the Banshee. Well four weeks later I must say the YFZ is the best handling atv I have ever ridden. It is way better than either the Banshee or the Raptor at turning, jumping and flying through the rough stuff. It is nimble and truely point and shoot. Awesome quad. However, It does wear me out faster than the Raptor or the Banshee. The The YFZ is pretty much hard core all the time. Raptor feels like a Harley compared to the YFZ. The Raptor is def more plush and comfortable. I love the Raptor and the Banshee though....heck I love them all.

for '06, yamaha changed some things to make it more comfy to be on par (comfort wise) with the 450R. anyone out there that can vouch for the 2006 model YFZ as compared to the 04/05 models?

im curious too. ive always liked the yfz....
