04 Rincon
#2
Knauf,
I bought my '04 Rincon new for $9,200 and couldn't be happier. $4,900 sounds like a good price.
I ride mine at least 4 or 5 days a week. I put a backrest/storage/passenger seat on the back of mine so my wife rides with me on major trail rides. We easily keep up with the others on their 400cc dirtbikes. I have taken mine over the top of Sand Mountain in Nevada using totally stock tires. We have been [two up] over many mountain passes in Moab, Utah, also Imogene Pass in Telluride CO [over 14,000ft. elevation].
The 2006 Rincon has a bigger engine & Fuel Injection which would be nice for those high mountain passes.

If the photos turn out below, they are of me trying my hand at Sand-Boarding from the top of Sand Mountain.

9200.00 for a 2004 Rincon?DAMN,did someone make some $$ on that sale.
I bought my new 2003 Rincon in October of 2002 for 6800 OTD. Today, you can buy them all day long in Michigan for about 6700 OTD.
Are your wheels lined with gold or something?

I still may end up with an '06 Rincon and from the research that I have been doing in and around the midwest that sounds like a FAIR price. I don't think it is dirt cheap or overpriced, I think that price is about right where it should be for a "newer" '04, especially since the '04 and '05 are essentially the same. I think you would just need to think about how much you care about having a newer yr model, the EFI, and slightly more cc's for $1,500-$2,000 more. If I were you it would come down to re-sale value and whether I planned on keeping it for 5+ yrs or not. If you tack on a bunch of miles and want to dump it in 2-3 yrs then it won't matter at all that in '06 it only had 190 miles and it will drop in price...on the other hand if you plan on riding it for a long time then that matters little and I'd go for it. Just my two cents....

Ouch! Well, nice to see a local on here. Hopefully you got a lot of extras for that price, where did you get it? I know Roseville cycle center doesn't charge freight/set up and they are the #1 volume Honda dealer in No. Calif.

Muddy - My wheels are aluminum, like the rest of them. My Warn winch with all the hardware to quick-disconnect from the front or rear of the quad, plus the 5-year bumper to bumper warranty accounted for the additional $1,400 above the OTD price of $7,800. When I bought the quad, the $7,800 OTD price for my GPS equipped quad beat everyone else on the West coast.
CaRider, Yes I bought my Rincon at Roseville Cycle. I have put 800 trouble-free miles on it. They have great prices on vehicles, parts, & accessories. I bought my GL 1800 Goldwing from them also. I would go to them in a heartbeat to buy another cycle.
On the other hand, I WILL NEVER AGAIN HAVE THEM SERVICE ANYTHING I OWN. Over the last four years, every experience with their service department has been horrible. Two friends of mine have had equally bad experiences. If you want to hook-up for a ride or just talk about good/bad dealers, you can email me at weber@directcon.net.

Will do. Glad to get a heads up on the service dept. West Coast Racing in Elk Grove seems like a pretty good shop although they only do warranty work on BRP. Sounds like you paid about the right price considering it was two years ago, the dealers are really trying to clear up the remaining 05's which is why there are discounting the 05 Rincon's so much, in my experiences with other Honda dealers they didn't move much on price. I was willing to drive to LA to buy a Rancher a few years ago because of a nearly $1,000 price difference Carmichael Honda wouldn't match.
