Recon carb adjusting
#1
Anyone have a Recon service manual?I let an auto mechanic clean my 13 yr old daughters stock Recon. He also adjusted it and has it set way to high.
I want to close the mixture screw and set it to stock factory settings. How many turns out does the manual say to set the mixture screw? Does the manual have any instructions for the idling screw? If not, I'll go by ear.
thank you,
Teej

By set too high...you mean idle rpm?
If thats the case, then adjust the screw on the right side area of carb(side opposite the choke lever), when the motor is up to temp. I believe its supposed to be 1500 plus or minus 100 rpm, but if you dont have a tach to hook up, go for a low smooth idle, and then give it a tad higher.
The mixture screw is gonna be somewhere around 2 turns out, (from lightly seated) give or take ,i dont have a manual, but most 4 strokes are set about there. and thats found on the underside of the carb, in front of the float bowl.
