Default Raptor 700 with Akropovic

I have just made the following mods to my Yamaha Raptor 700:
Akropovic Evolution full system
GYTR Air Filter

Now I am having problems with the quad cutting out.

Do I need to buy a Power Commander? What else could the problem be - what can I try?

Thanks in advance for the help.

you have 2 options

1) get a power commander, trinity programmer, or Doebeck programmer and tune it your self

2) take it to the yamaha dealer you bought it from and have them remap the ECU.

Thanks - I will check out the Power Commander etc

(Local dealer is unfortunately not an option - they are pretty clueless, plus the ONLY dealer here. (For example theytold me I did not need to oil the air filter, and still have not ordered a shock spanner to adjust my shock).

i just got my powercommander off ebay for $274 shipped. Its installed on my 700 but i have not got a chance to try it out(just got it last night). a lot of people say it makes all the difference in power, and its nice b/c you can go on there web site and get the map for what you have done.

Hey RaptorBahrain be very carefull you can do some major damage to your quad as it would be running VERY lean without remapping. I would advise not to ride it untill you have made the modifications. Check the colour of your plug.

I agree, watch out!!! Pretty much everyone that has made ANY mods engine wise have HAD to get a controller, due to the machine not adjuting far enough with the stock mapping.

GET A CONTROLLER ASAP!

Thanks for the info guys!

The quad is currently parked, and will remain so until the Power Commander arrives - ordered one off eBay this morning.

135boom - as soon as I have fitted the PC and had a ride I'll let you know how the Akrapovic goes.
