Default How do You Like the Raptor 700R???

I own an 05' Z400 and am selling it to maby buy a raptor 700. I just want some opinions about it by people who have the 700. Is it actually what you expected and are you happy with it. i love my z400 but want a quad fuel injected. What about any problems with the raptor so far? I would buy the new suzuki when it comes out but there is no reverse and I mostly trail ride. Any opinions will help.

I love my 700. It has massive torque, handles awesome. When i hit the whoops, I overwhelm my front shocks. Those need to be replaced for aggressive riding. The twist throttle was a no brainer. Brakes are awesome. Chain adjustment is EZ. It handles well in the air.

If you plan on putting on an intake and or exhaust, you will need a programmer. This can be expensive compared to $20 worth of jets for a carb.

Its a very comfortable quad to ride. I have not ridden a 450, but sat on one before I bought the 700 and it was too uncomfortable with the low handlebars.

Yea, Ive had the 700 since October and no complaints. Only Improvment I could see it having stock is better front shocks. They arn't as forgiving has say the 450s remote gas shocks. Anyway, I have raced alot of different bikes. The one in particular that people have a hard time choosing is between the yfz450 and 700 raptor. I would choose the raptor everytime unless you are gonna ride mx specifically all the time and not much else. I have a mx track and then another down the road that we ride on. But I prefer riding long dirt roads and trials more often than the mx. Its important to know that I raced a 06 yfz serveral times on pavement and beat it everytime. The 450 is strong and I could see it going either way depending on the driver in a loose traction like dirt situation but bike to bike for power on hard surface the 700 pulled off the start and stayed ahead. Similar rider weight and stock to stock bikes. Also the yfz 450s feel like you sit ontop of the handlebars rather than behind them. For mx this works well but for long rides and confort the 700 feel is hard to beat. I recently finished some speed tests and got a good number for a stock bike with just sprocket changes. Gps tests in opposite directions taking the highest number of each run per setup. Stock runs around 75 (14/38 gearing). 14/36-runs around 77 15/38 (untested) 15/36 (ran a 80.5 with airlid on, and a 81.9 with air lid off). For long rides and needed topend speeds right now I can't think of any better ratio than 15/36. It gives you a 2.4 gearing ratio which is the lowest I can get from Rockymountain atv. 5mph for like 20 bucks an't bad.

Tell you what tho, my friend has an 05 450r honda and it would stay with the stock 700 topend. He turned a 76 on the gps and on the same day i turned a 75. We always ran both directions and tried to do it on the same day. Anway. how is that trinity pipe, Iam thinking of buyin all my upgrades from them.

Are U Kidding Me?

The Raptor 700R is everything they say she is. She is more maneuverable like the 450 but more cushy and sweet like the 660 with less tippiness and she rides like butter on hot toast.....sort of the way you feel when you know you got the one wave that made the session worth it. I surf too, but you already knew that.

She is everything they say she is. She is woman, I know it. Hear her roar.

Rad Riding 2 Ya....
