02' raptor 660 no start?help!!!
#1
ok here it goes,
i own a 02 raptor 660 and was riding it one day and the starter sounded like it was kicking back to hard , not a good sound. so i kept riding it and eventually i couldnt start it it just made this loud buzzing noise which was coming from the relay uner the seat(where to positive wire connects to) so i checked the fuses and they were fine so i replaced the starter thinking it was licked up or something. i put the new starter in and it does the same thing ..
i think now it might be that relay but i called a local atv shop and they said it is probably the battery .
does anyone agree should i get a new battery or is this more complicated of a problem?
i hit the start button and i get nothing but a bzzing noise from under the seat...
please help me out guys.
thanx

Try changing the battery with another bike, or lawn mower, before you go and buy a new battery. This doesn't really sound like a one-way problem to me, but i am not an expert. When my one way starter bearing went it wouldn't start, just make a weird sould, then engage and every once in a while start up.

yea my warrior has been doing the same thing( kind of) it still starts but u have to roll it forward or it just buzzes. i think it's the battery.

Yea my Raptor does the same thing from time to time when I try to start it and I just got a new Starter clucth.
I hope you didn't waste money buying a new starter when you didn't need to because I know those starters cost
alot of money. I would try to charge it or take it to your local motorcycle shop and let them test the battery.

can you hear the start turning by any chance if so it is your one way. this is a major problem with raptors. dont buy a factory one way either. i got mine from a place that raptor tranny told me about. for some reason i think it is la sleeve but i may be wrong
