New Quad ? 06 Rincon Or KQ Or any suggestions
#1
Hi guys,
I've been lookin on here for a while and this is my first post. I currently have a 2006 KFX400 and i'm looking to get rid of it and get a 4x4 machine. Everyone I ride with has a 4x4 and i'm sick and tired of being left behind because my machine can't go where they an go. I think I have it narrowed down to what I want either the 06 KQ or the Rincon. Any thoughts or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for good power and handling. FI I would prefer but any other suggestions would be welcome. A freind of mine has a BF750 and i've ridden it many times. I love the power but hate the handling. It always feels tippy when going into a corner. I would like to find a machine that would give me better handling than that and reasonable power, not necessarily the same power as the BF but close. I would also set about $8000.00 As the price cap. Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. This is turning out to be a much harder decision than I thought it would be .

not to confuse you any more, but I think the Outlander 650 may be worth looking at too. I was impressed with the 400s performance
but I tend to look at machines by how they are going to be after the new wears off. some hold up better than others.
all depends on what's important to you, they're all fun when new

The KQ is a good all around machine. Its pretty good at almost everything, just not the best at anything other than the price. The Honda has always been known to be a high quality unit and now it has EFI and better brakes. The Honda will likely be the better of the two in its handeling, not that the KQ is bad, it handels fine. The Outy 650 was mentioned and is also a great machine, The Honda will likely have a slight advantage in its quality but the Outy will likely beat both the KQ and the Rincon with its power and sporty handeling.

If you like the 750 brute except for the handleing you may also want to check out the 650 brute force. The 650 brute is suppost to have redesigned suspension geometry to take care of the 750s faults. Also the 650 has good power. There are alot of quality units out now by alot of different manufactures. Good luck with whatever you pick.

That reminds me there is a Brute 650 with a Solid axle that has none of the hadeling issues of its brothers. The Brute 650 SRA has about the best hadeling you are going to find, mainly do to its solid axle. It also has the best price of any 650 out there. Its list price is 6599.00 about where others price there 500 class machines. The brute 650 SRA is actualy a prairie 700 with new plastic and the original priarie 633cc v-twin form the origianl 2002-2003 model year machines. The Prarie 700 is also a great choice for outstanding handeling. Just rember with the SRA machines you can expect to see a slighty stiffer ride. That said I feel the front suspension is set actualy softer than the IRS type brutes so in a way I think it is kind of a trade off. You can typicaly find these machines priced in the uper 5 grand price range.
