True the raptor is bigger, badder, and faster but it also doesnt handle nearly as well as the Z. Thats why you dont see any of the top gncc riders racing them. There to big for woods racing wich kl likes to do.

maybe the old 660 raptor didn't handle as well as the z400 but the new 700r handles just as well if not better. there are 2 z400s in the group i usually ride with and i can tell you from experience that they cannot touch a 700r stock for stock. don't get me wrong, i think the z400 is a great quad, i was actually considering one before i bought my 700r and i have no regrets. the 700r handles every bit as good as the z400 but has alot more power and it really isn't that much bigger than the z400.

i have both a 2003 z400 and a brand new raptor 700 and they handle almost the same i think the raptor has a little better suspension. as far a power goes the raptor kills the z when i first rode it when i got off i was like wow. if i could only have one i would go with the raptor. my only complaint about the raptor is ground clearance compared to the z.

and one more thing i think the reason why they don't race them in gncc is because of the cc's being 700 but i might be wrong.

If i was was you I would say forget the raptor and either buy one of the 450's or keep yours. Really depends on what kind of riding you do but if you race alot and your gonna spend that kind of money id get the yfz 450 or new suzuki they came out with cuz theyll beat the 700 stock for stock.

i have ridden all the new 450's - the yamaha, the honda, and the suzuki, and to tell you the truth i'm not that impressed with any of them for the price you are paying. i would take the 700 raptor over any one of them any day of the week.
