Default question please!!!!!!!!!!!!04 kodiak

Hello all
I have recently purchased a used 04 Kodiak 450 from my neighbour who only ever used it for bringing fire wood down to the shop. It has 400 kms on it. My question is what should the top speed be?? It feels a little under powered, however I am use to on Arctic cat 650 which is the only other bike i have ever ridden. I love this kodiak. The fit and finish is fantastic. Great second machine. Has all the bells and whistles: plow, storage boxes, mud lites and ITP rims. I am just wondering what i should be getting for top end. Thank You
I am glad to be part of the yamaha club now as well as the arctic cat club.

Default question please!!!!!!!!!!!!04 kodiak

My '05 Kodiak ran 56 today according to the speedo. That may be incorrect, I haven't tested it with a gps. The Kodiak is not a speed machine, if you wanted speed should have bought a big bore. But for what it is, utility mid-size atv, it does a good job. I have beat and bashed it through any mud hole I could find, in the mountains in TN off rocks and creeks fender deep with water , and no problems, knock on wood...With 1400 miles on it all I have done is service it, adjust the valves, and just replaced front and rear brake pads.

Default question please!!!!!!!!!!!!04 kodiak

yeah, it's definately going to depend on the tires.... My dad's stock 05 went 55mph... (56 with a good tail wind) The bigger the tires, the slower it's gonna go....
